Grid a 10 × 10 site into 25 squares, dig each and map where finds cluster.
Archaeologists never dig at random. Grid the site, dig square by square, and let the finds reveal the heart.

What you’ll build
Set out a dig site over a trail ruin and split it into a grid of small labelled squares. Dig one square at a time, brushing every suspicious block and logging every find, even zeros. Then shade your grid like a heat map to reveal where finds cluster and what might have stood there.
Finish line: Every square of your dig grid is logged, and your heat map points to the lost city's heart.
Bonus challenge: Dig one more layer down in your 3 busiest squares only. Do the finds keep coming, or did you hit the bottom of the city?

- Signs
- Two brushes
- A shovel
- A trail ruin to dig

Stuck?
- Mining suspicious gravel destroys its item. Always brush it, and dig around it rather than under it.
- Lost track of where you are? Put a sign in every square before you start digging.
- No finds in a square? Write 0. Empty squares help show where the city's heart really is.
