What you’ll build
Build a giant number display from lamps arranged in seven segments, each wired to its own lever. Test every segment, show every digit from 0 to 9, then run a countdown at one number a second without a mistake and launch the fireworks.
Finish line: Your lamp display shows every digit, and you've counted down from 9 to 0 without a single mistake.
Bonus challenge: Build a second display beside the first and count down from 20. Or spell a secret word: which letters can 7 segments make? (Try A, C, E, F, H…).

Stuck?
- One lever lights two segments? Its dust is leaking into a neighbour: move the wire or add a repeater.
- Label every lever a to g, so you can find each segment fast during the countdown.
- Practise the digits slowly before you try the one-per-second race.
