Wood breaks. Stone is slow. Iron changes everything… if you find it before a skeleton finds you.

What you’ll build
Head into the caves with torches and a stone pickaxe to hunt for iron ore. Smelt every piece into ingots, then decide what to forge first from your Iron Shopping List – and walk home in your new gear with a stash of spare iron.
Finish line: You've mined, smelted and spent your first iron, and the leftover ingots are safe in a chest labelled IRON.
Bonus challenge: Collect all 24 ingots for a full iron armour set and walk into a dark cave like you own it (with a parent or experienced player nearby).

Stuck?
- Iron ore is stone with peachy-brown spots. It needs a stone pickaxe or better, or it drops nothing.
- To raise a shield on a touchscreen, hold it in your off-hand and sneak.
- Keep a wall at your back in caves and light as you go. On Normal, mobs hit hard.
