Run a brightest-room tournament, then build a glass mansion from it.
Three rooms enter the tournament. Only the brightest earns a place in your glass mansion on the cliff.
- New skill Flat roofs, big glass and cantilevers
- Level 3 · Dream City
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 35–45 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Run a brightest-room tournament: build identical rooms that differ in just one glass choice and have a judge score each one in daylight. Crown the champion, then build a sleek glass mansion with a flat roof using the winning plan and finish with a daring cantilever.
Finish line: Your tournament has a champion room, and your glass mansion uses its winning plan with a bold cantilever.
Bonus challenge: Grudge match: clear glass vs tinted glass in two identical rooms. Tinted glass blocks light in the game. What do your scores show?
You’ll need
- Glass
- Wall and floor blocks
- A family member as light judge
You choose
- The ONE thing my rooms compete on (glass amount, type or depth)
- What stays identical in every room
- My bet on the champion room
Stuck?
- Results unfair? Keep every room the same size and facing the same way, with no torches inside.
- Judge all the rooms within a few minutes of each other. Daylight changes as the sun moves.
- Back of the room dark? Light fades the further it travels from the window, so deep rooms score lower.
For grown-ups
